Petra Ogrin

Physiotherapist

I have always been inspired by the idea that I can help people through my knowledge and work. My journey of helping others began as early as high school, where I attended a secondary medical school. It was there that I first realized the importance of a deep understanding of the human body and the role of professional support in recovery.

Education

After completing secondary medical school, I continued my professional path as a group exercise instructor. In my work, I frequently encountered individuals with various types of pain and movement limitations, which led me to reflect on how I could provide more effective and professional support. This motivated me to pursue a degree in physiotherapy, as I wanted to deepen my knowledge and gain the competencies needed for a comprehensive approach to pain, injuries, and functional disorders.

During my studies, I had the opportunity to work in outpatient physiotherapy, where I successfully integrated theoretical knowledge with practical experience. I also gained experience in clinics, hospitals, and spa rehabilitation settings. However, I found my true professional direction in outpatient physiotherapy, where I am most passionate about working individually with people and monitoring their progress.

Career

For more than ten years, I have been working in private physiotherapy practice, treating a wide range of individuals—from athletes and recreationally active people to those with chronic conditions, pain, and post-operative states. In my work, I place strong emphasis on individualized treatment, where in addition to professional assessment, I always listen to each person’s personal story. I believe that trust and collaboration are the foundation of successful rehabilitation.

My main area of expertise is manual therapy, through which I help reduce pain, improve mobility, and support the body in restoring optimal balance. I follow modern professional guidelines and evidence-based practice to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality physiotherapy care for my clients.

Achievements

I strongly believe that continuous education is the foundation of professional excellence. Therefore, I regularly upgrade my knowledge in the fields of orthopaedic medicine, manual therapy, and myofascial therapy. My philosophy is based on a holistic approach, where each individual is treated as a unique whole, taking into account their physical condition, goals, and lifestyle.

In addition to my clinical work, I actively contribute to the professional development of physiotherapy as a member of the Board of the Section of Private Physiotherapists and the Commission for Private Practice and Issuance of Professional Opinions at the Slovenian Physiotherapy Association. I also share my knowledge and clinical experience as a mentor to students and trainees. In 2025, I participated as a lecturer at the Fitness Association of Slovenia Congress, where I presented on hip impingement.

I believe in clinically proven approaches while remaining open to new and modern rehabilitation methods grounded in scientific evidence. My mission is not only to help people eliminate pain but also to achieve long-term improvements in their quality of life.
